  2. Resume normal life (work and study) after 2 to 3 weeks after surgey.

  3. Avoid lifting heavy objects within one month after discharge. Matain good sitting and walking posture, and avoid large body movements, such as rolling, bending, etc.

  4. Timeframe for resuming physical exercise:

    - 6 weeks after surgery: Non-competitve aerobic exercise, such as jogging, hiking, etc. can be progressively resumed,  but the exercise intensity should be gradually increased based on one's physical condition.

    - 3 months after surgery: If physical conditions permit, some low-intensity competitive sports can be progressively performed, but high-intensity confrontational sports such as basketball and football should be avoided. (It depends on your own situation. Do not exercise if you feel pain, and pay attention to prevent falling or impact on the chest wall during exercise.)

    - 2 weeks after the bar is removed: Most sports activities can be gradually resumed.

  5. If you feel pain, you can take the pain medication recommended by your doctor. If the pain persists, please consult your surgeon.

  6. If the wound fails to heal, or if pus or swelling occurs, please consult your surgeon.

  7. Please insist on reviewing X-rays once a month within 3 months after surgery, and review at any time if any discomfort occurs.

  8. The appropriate time for bar removal:

    - Patients under 12: the bar should be removed 2 years after the surgery.

    - Patients over 12: the bar should be removed 3 years after the surgery. MRI of the chest and upper abdomen is prohibited before the bar is removed.

  9. Deep breathing training can be performed several times a day. This helps to enhance lung function and reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications.
