Dr. Ruijian Liu, is the head of the Minimally Invasive Hyperhidrosis Center and the Chest Wall Neurosurgery Department at Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital. He also leads the Hyperhidrosis Specialty Group in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department and is a member of the Chinese Chest Wall Surgery Alliance and the Guangdong Medical Education Association’s Translational Oncology Specialty Committee.
With over a decade of experience in hyperhidrosis, Dr. Liu implemented
the "Rapid Recovery Day Surgery" model for hyperhidrosis treatment. This model significantly improves and simplifies the patient care process, encompassing hospital admission, preoperative examinations, surgical procedures, surgical instruments, and discharge criteria, etc., enabling patients to undergo minimally invasive hyperhidrosis surgery with same-day discharge. Annually, Dr. Liu performs nearly 500 hyperhidrosis surgeries, making him one of the most prolific surgeons in this field in China. His extensive experience and specialized techniques have greatly improved the efficiency of hyperhidrosis treatment, leading to significant advancements in palmar hyperhidrosis .
Dr. Liu's research focus on the structure and function of chest wall nerves, specifically on the minimally invasive treatment of conditions such as palmar hyperhidrosis, craniofacial hyperhidrosis, and erythrophobia (fear of blushing). In the area of scientific research, he has led and participated in 6 provincial and municipal research projects, published over 10 academic papers and 4 SCI papers (with the highest impact factor reaching 5.2), and holds 1 national patent.
